Florida Free & Updated Copy of Public Divorce Records

Florida is the fourth largest state in the US in terms of population is also one of the highest numbers of divorce rates. Because of the increasing number of divorce cases in the country, in 1972 the government has mandated to make divorce records available in public. Florida divorce records that have been granted from June 6, 1927 are kept at the Vital Records Office. Records that have been registered before the said date can be requested at the office of the Clerk of the Supreme Court at the county where the divorce was granted.

The local residents' uses divorce records for a number of reasons. In the state of Florida, it is one of the needed documents when wanting to marry again. It is also used when processing the application to migrate to a different country. Sometimes, the residents of Florida would use it to check the marriage status of the person they are living with to determine if the person has been married or divorced before. A fee of $5 is needed in order to have the request processed. It is best to provide information about the individual whose records you are searching for. Information such as the couple's name, nickname, date of marriage and divorce and the place where the marriage took place can help make hasten the retrieval of the divorce file. The processing time can take up to 3 weeks.

The office of the Vital Records is the first place to go to when requesting for a divorce record in Florida. Other places such as the church and family documents can also provide the divorce record. The Internet can also be used to request for a copy of a divorce record.

The divorce records database of each county in the state of Florida are not linked unlike other public records of the state. This makes the search take a lot of time. With the development of the Internet, this had been addressed. Online database of each county are now connected via the Internet. With this, the retrieval of the record has now become a lot faster compared to the traditional method of getting it.
