Tips to Help Tackle Your Travel Boredom

By Catherine McCulloch

Whether it's 45 minutes or 16 hours, sometimes we all need a good distraction to fight that sedentary boredom. Holiday Discount Centre is all about giving you the best deals for that dream holiday, but once you've booked, packed and made it through security, you still have the unfortunate part of getting there. Don't worry, we're here to help.

Swat up on relaxation techniques: Simple breathing exercises and easy stretches can quite quickly and easily help you calm down. Best of all, plenty of them can be down in your seat, so take advantage of the extra time!

If you feel guilty about missing work, you can catch up on some last-minute emails, or update your automated office away message from the skies. It will help you relax and be able to put work worries at the back of your mind for your holiday.

Be sure to catch up on sleep. Not only will it pass the time, but you'll feel replenished and wide awake for your holiday -- so you'll be able to make the most of it right away instead of sleeping in at the hotel. if you can't sleep, the person next to you might fancy a chat. Perhaps you can exchange travel tips or funny stories.

Write a letter or two: And no, we don't mean an email. A long ago pastime, most friends, family and significant others would love getting a letter or postcard in the post. Whether they're thank you notes for something, a 'just saying hi,' or round up of your holiday on the way back, it will not only pass some time but also be an all around nice thing to do.
