Choosing The Right Type of Hookah

By John McCree

All hookahs are not made the same, and selecting a hookah is not always as simple as it looks. You, the user, may have certain uses, which would influence the features of the hookah you actually purchase. Here are some questions you must ask yourself before you buy a hookah:

1. Will I use the hookah often or occasionally?

2. Will it be a permanent accessory in my home? Will I need to transport it?

3. What size will be more suitable?

4. While not using will I keep it as a decoration or not?

5. Will it be used by only one person in a smoking session?

6. How much time would I like my smoking sessions to last?

7. Do I want the hookah to suit the dcor of my house or a particular room?

If you answer the above mentioned questions, you will make a better choice about which hookah to buy.

Where to Find Your Hookah

You can easily find a hookah online. If you are old school then you can definitely visit a shisha shop. If you go to a shisha shop, you are able to seek advice from an expert who can help you in choosing a hookah. And then there is the benefit that you can check the hookah physically before you purchase it.

Buying online can be really easy as you can purchase a hookah from the convenience of your home. Make sure the online shop you select has a good reputation on the Internet.

Six Standard Hookah Types

There are different types of hookahs and each type is intended for particular taste and uses. A few of these types are:

1. Egyptian Hookah - The Egyptian hookah features a tall, thin stem and a frame manufactured from copper or brass. It is reasonably priced and very common.

2. Syrian Hookah - The Syrian hookah is a tad more expensive than Egyptian hookah. This type of hookah is characterized by a hoseport with a more upward angle.

3. Crystal Hookah - These type of hookahs are really beautiful and quite expensive. Crystal hookahs could also be used for decoration in the home owing to its design and elegance.

4. Rotating Hookah - Produced from stainless steel, these kind of hookahs are great for use by multiple people in one smoking session because of the rotating base, which makes it easy to pass the hose. These hookahs are not more expensive than Egyptian hookahs.

5. Mini Hookah - Generally low-priced, these hookahs are great for people who travel a lot and love to smoke.

6. Specialty Hookah - In order to suit your unique personality, or make a bolder statement, specialty hookahs can provide with some amazing designs. Prices range all over.

Prior To Making the Purchase

It would be good if you test out a variety of hookah before choosing one. The use of all kinds of hookahs is similar, to smoke. But certain characteristics of a hookah can make it a better fit for you. For example, bigger hookahs (x inches plus) generally require more suction in order to smoke. Some smokers find this too much effort, and would prefer to smoke a smaller hookah. If you buy a hookah with a larger bowl, your smoking sessions will last longer because it can carry more shisha.

If you have the convenience of having hookah bars close to your home, you can get practice by trying several different hookahs before purchasing yours. The next hookah you get may end up staying with you forever, so make it a fine purchase!
