A long road trip requires a steady stream of music, so don't forget your best loved tunes on CD or MP3 player to keep you entertained. Radio reception can be spotty when you travel, with some dead or high static areas, so you will need something on hand to entertain yourself.

Keep in mind that many people stay in hotels. When you are at the hotel, do not slam doors, nor be so loud that you disturb others. No matter what time of day it is, someone may be trying to sleep or recover from a flight. You can enjoy your hotel stay without disturbing the comfort and enjoyment of others. Planning ahead is important for any trip, but especially important if you are traveling by air. Airports are often located near large cities, and reaching them during peak traffic times of the day can take much longer then you might expect. Do all of your packing the day before. Prepare ahead so that you are not rushed when you need to get to your flight. One of the worst ways to start a trip is to miss your flight.
