The West Coast of New Zealand: A Fun Filled Destination for Vacationers

The West Coast region of New Zealand is an oceanic destination that is ideal for those who are seeking a fun filled holiday. For anyone who is unfamiliar with this geographical area, New Zealand is situated 900 miles east of Australia.It is one of the many Pacific islands that are included within the Oceania region.This country consists of two separate islands called the North Island and the South Island.Listed as one of New Zealand's 16 regions, the West Coast is a part of the South Island.It is loaded with rugged mountains and coastal plains that are ideal for holiday stays.

Although the Western Coast can boast that it has around 140 glaciers, Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier are awarded the most attention.The glaciers can be viewed in various ways.You can either take a guided walking tour to see them, a helicopter ride or even trek to climb portions of them.You have so many options to select.With whatever option you choose, you will have a very memorable time.Tourist claim that Fox Glacier is not as busy as Franz Josef.However, both are known to be very entertaining once you get there.

The West coast region is so beautiful that it does not take much to really enjoy the area.There is nothing that says you have to take helicopter rides, trek through the rain forests or ride mountain bikes while on vacation.But then again, these are some of the ways in which extremely active people like to enjoy the region.

However, if you want a vacation that is peaceful, then take a walk through one of the rain forest.The duration for these walks can be anywhere from ten minutes to five full days.The Department of Conservation has a list of the walking tours for the region.This department can tell you the duration time for each walk and how difficult each walk can be.You might need this info if there are small kids or older people in your travelling group.

If walking tracks are not adventurous enough for you, don't worry because the regions has plenty of exciting activities that you will love.You can easiy book tours for rock climbing, cave rafting or other activities that will get your blood pumping.Paparoa National Park has beautiful caves, forests, cliffs, coastline and canyons that are ideal for action packed activities.

With all of these beautiful charms, the Western Coast of South Island is bound to have excellent hotel or motel accommodations as well.As a matter of fact, there are places to stay such as bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, cheap hotels, ritzy hotels and even places where backpackers can lay their head.So if you are heading over to the hokitika motels Wild Food Festival, you will see a lot of hokitika accommodation options.You will find different types of Hokitika motels, bed and breakfasts and even campgrounds that you will like. It doesn't matter which you choose because your accommodations will always be reasonable and satisfying.

In conclusion, the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island is filled with beautiful scenery and plenty of activities for vacationers.This is the perfect part of the world to experience something very new and exciting.
